The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series are popular modding candidates, and some mods can even help to improve some of the more lackluster elements. Needless to say, the process for using mods will differ from game to game.
Once you have the program installed and up and running, you can start to download mods for your respective games. Make sure to have your games installed first before doing so. You can either download the mod files manually by heading over to the Nexus Mods website, or you can download with the appropriate URL.

I think I'll wait a few days before downloading them so I don't have to put up with that crap. Hopefully the site runs smoother once the database transfer is complete. I've downloaded a few things earlier today and yesterday without any problems, but a couple days before that kept getting errors. Just give a shot and if it doesn't work try again in a couple hours.

I'd argue it's even better than getting Project Nevada, since that mod is a bit of an outdated mess due to its peculiar scripting. EDIT: Fixed the link, oops. Even Nexus eventually gave up on it and replaced it with Vortex, which works similarly to MO2. You don't need to follow it the whole way through; the only essential parts are "Configuring Mod Organizer" BUT you can stop after the green gear image part since it's for time-consuming programs to maximise stability. Good luck. Project Nevada runs just fine on NMM.
